Her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of 19. It was a hugely acclaimed track by critics as well as the public. The song reached the top spot at 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in the year 2015. This is the same year that she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five songs she wrote that made it to Billboard's charts. This track was special due to her interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of her listeners were able to relate to her experience in discovering their own love and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara is famous for including the themes of mental health and love and self-love into her music. The inspiration for her music stems from her personal struggles in overcoming mental health issues and insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes the album as being half turbulent and half perfected. She found that therapy has helped her develop and encourages people to try it too. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11, 1996, to parents with Italian origins. When she was 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar that became the starting point of her love for music. Three years later, when she was 13, she began singing her favorite tracks through YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic opportunity to show others the fact that she had ability and determination. Sweater Weather is among those covers that led to her being noticed by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create the songs she wrote herself.
